Jackson Latest – Reforms of legal aid and of civil litigation funding and costs

The Ministry of Justice has published two consultation documents, the first seeks views on proposals for the reform of legal aid in England and Wales, and the other seeks views on implementing a package of Lord Justice Jackson's recommendations on civil litigation funding and costs.

Legal Aid Reform

This consultation seeks views on proposals for reform of legal aid in England and Wales. The proposals represent a radical, wide-ranging and ambitious programme of reform which aims to ensure that legal aid is targeted to those who need it most, for those cases in which legal advice or representation is justified.  To view the consultation document please click here.

Reform of Civil Litigation Funding and Costs

This consultation seeks views on implementing a package of Lord Justice Jackson's proposals for reforming conditional fee agreements and other aspects of civil litigation funding and costs.  To view the consultation document please click here.
