Premex joined the cycling craze this month with a charity ride from our Bolton HQ to Glaysiers Solicitors' Manchester City Centre home for the I Love Claims "Great Big Charity Challenge".
With the UK afflicted by the 'Wiggins effect' and the victorious efforts of Team GB at the Olympic velodrome, we have certainly witnessed increasing Lycra content on our roads.
Premex admits to also having caught the bug and for its contribution to the industry's "Great Big Charity Challenge" - a cross-industry initiative to raise over £500,000 for the Rainbow Trust Children's charity - Chris Wheatley, Sales and Marketing Director and Richard Neve, Business Development Manager carried an Olympic Style torch to Glaysiers' office. The torch started on 16th June in Plymouth and has made its way up north by various transport methods.
Sadly neither Wheatley nor Neve was able to sport Wiggins' infamous sideburns, but reminiscent of local Farnworth lad Jason Kenny the pair sprinted off down the A6 on their Olympic adventure.
So far, Premex has raised over £1,000 for the Rainbow Trust and looks forward to more events like this and our previous trip to Manchester Velodrome in future.
Chris Wheatley explained, "We have really enjoyed getting involved in this fantastic charity challenge. It is a brilliant way to raise money for the Rainbow Trust and bring the industry together through the transportation of the torch. We're really pleased to have played our part for Rainbow Trust and have raised more than £1,000."
