PERSONAL INJURY POLITICS

Transport Select Committee member Julie Hilling MP met with Premex last week, to discuss the future of the UK's personal injury profession.

Julie Hilling, MP for Bolton West, visited Premex's headquarters to find out more about the role Premex plays in providing independent medical evidence to both insurance companies and claimant lawyers in the personal injury claims process.

Aside from her interest in the legislative environment, as local MP Ms Hilling's focus was alson on Premex is a major employer; with over 350 staff in total, 82% of the company's employees live within 10 miles of the Bolton head office and 52% within 5 miles. Premex has created 60 new jobs in Bolton within the last 12 months.

"It was great to meet the staff at Premex Services and find out more about the services they provide," said Ms Hilling. "I found it very informative and a real eye-opener. It is encouraging to have a local firm undergoing such expansion and attracting new business".

Donald Fowler, managing director of Premex Services added: "Over the past year we have worked hard to ensure that policymakers understand the important part Premex plays in bringing independent medical evidence to the claims process and it is imperative that we share our views with our local MP.  We hope that Julie has seen our commitment to the local area with our on-going training programmes and the creation of new jobs and can continue to develop this through our service offering."
