Our complex personal injury service Premex + is on show during these summer months at a series of conferences around the UK. This Friday we pick up the baton at the annual AvMA conference in Leeds. Premex + will be exhibiting from stand 40.
Premex + was well received by experts at last week's Clinical Negligence Expert Annual Seminar and Maria Hardwidge, Operations Manager of Premex+ says the conference season is in full flow. "We're really looking forward to the AvMA conference (Action against Medical Accidents) which begins this Friday. Aside from the comprehensive programme of speakers, it's a great opportunity to catch up with clients and discuss issues affecting the industry right now."
"Instructing solicitors have told us that important factors to them are quality experts, comprehensive reports and deferred payments. Also, our customers want flexibility, particularly to instruct their own experts. We're encouraging people to reconnect with their preferred experts by recruiting them on to our panel."
Maria says that from her point of view one of the key trends coming across from medical experts is a procedural concern. "At the annual seminar, we covered the key principles in providing effective expert evidence which can be easily translated for the courts. There were detailed discussions around the Bolam and Bolitho tests, also the importance around the changing guidelines and the factual requirements needed to support their reports. The main issues that came up were around how experts interpret instruction letters and how to address dilemmas when writing reports for breach of duty and causation.”
