Solicitors with RTA claims involving drivers and passengers could be saving themselves extra time by avoiding multiple searches. PremExtra reveals all in our latest MedCo tips column…
With families well and truly back to work and school after the long summer holiday, solicitors are often busy this time of year with claims from accidents on the roads during July and August. Wayne Brannan, Senior Business Development Manager at Premex Services says the season has been characterised by some new confusion over the MedCo search rules.
“There is often an August spike for RTAs, particularly those involving passengers and children and this affects solicitors instructing through MedCo. When the portal was built, the intention was that families could attend a joint appointment, with a medical report produced for each injured party but the design didn’t initially accommodate this functionality.
“So, we’re reminding all of our customers that it is possible to get a joint appointment through MedCo. We’ve found that solicitors frequently look to Premex for guidance and we’re well placed to help out. The amount of time a fee earner could waste by arranging different appointments with different experts could really damage the client journey so we’re encouraging people to use this helpful step.”
