As our customers are aware, Premex takes IT security extremely seriously and regularly reviews its approach in order to ensure maximum protection for users and their client data.
Following our latest review, Premex has opted to introduce a new Vu User Password Policy. This will be effective from 20/08/15 and will strengthen our IT security and add an extra level of protection for the information you access via the VU system.
Premex Services Ltd is committed to ensuring that our data is protected to the highest standards. The company is currently in the process of securing its ISO 27001 Information Security Management accreditation and whilst VU is already accessed via HTTPS encryption, we viewed it as a prudent measure to enforce a strong password policy and further enhance the overall security of the site.
How will the change affect me?
Any new password created after the implementation date will have to adhere to the new password standards. If you do not change your password you will be asked to do so sixty days after your first log in from 20/08/2015
What are the new password standards?
All new passwords will have to adhere to the following;
- 8 and 15 characters long,
- Contain at least one capital letter, one number and a non-alphanumeric character.
All user passwords will have to be changed every 60 days. You will also not be able to re-use any password used during the previous 12 months.
When will this change happen?
The change will be implemented on 20/08/2015
Will I be given warning that my password will expire?
The system will present you with a warning seven days before your password is due to expire.
Will there be any other changes?
No, you will still be able to re-set your passwords using the current screens and process as you do now.
